Hurray for boobies! That's pretty much what Poupi Whoopy magazine is about. We rehashed classic pin-ups and a whiff of burlesque with raunchy DIY and came up with a nudie mag that's somewhere between pop art and underground. Only downside? You won't be able to pretend you read Poupi Whoopy for the witty articles. We make sexy pics with a tongue in cheek sense of humor. Not to mention we feature more bare boobs than you can shake a stick at—big'uns, small ones, perky ones... We're not picky when it comes to size and looks: we picture women for your pleasure ànd theirs, gals who are proud to show their curves and demonstrate that beauty manifests itself in many forms.

So don't expect silicone galore and airbrushed skin, we use our photoshop skills for crazy kitsch backgrounds. We do love foldouts though, but instead of choosing glossy wafer-thin paper, we spend hours silk screening body parts, folding pages by hand and stapling them together with great care. We could have chosen a bank account in Switzerland by going for lucrative, sleazy porn, instead we've put all our craft into a magazine that will make you smile all over. (Really, all over.) Yeah, we're getting cheesy.

Poupi Whoopy was founded by graphic designer Janus 'Prutpuss' Lemaire and his girlfriend Sky Van der Hoek, who is a make-up artist. After three editions of gilrie goodness, photographer Ulrike Biets and journalist Jill Mathieu joined in to put together an all male edition and the brand new Poupi Whoopy 4, featuring both boys and girls, happily showing the goods.

the throw away project

I'm really excited about the project Randa and I are doing for The Word Magazine. We called it The Throw Away Project - handing out disposable camera's to artists on festivals all summer.
The first festival we did was Les Ardentes, where we got backstage bracelets from JJ from the entourage of Cypress Hill. They played the first day, so we had backstage access the following days with our holy number 2 bracelets! We ran into a very wasted Adam Green, Health, Jamie Lidell, Midnight Juggernauts, Audiobullys, Julian Casablancas, Pharrell and so on. And into Pete Doherty, who - after we gave him a camera - was taking pics with it all the time, on stage and off stage - and then lost it. Ahrg.

After seeing A Single Man (directed by Tom Ford) I think every potential good movie has to pick a fashion designer to join the crew. And I'm not only refering to the styling and the outfits, or the pretty people slash models appearing on the screen, or the frank but tensed gayness dripping of. I'm talking about the movie being like a sequence of editorial fashion shoots, slow sensual moving images with actors rather posing than acting, filmed with a fashion indoctrinated eye for details and colours and lightning. I couhgt myself blinking with my eyes a lot - which I always do when I wanna take a picture but don't have my camera with me. And for the first time ever I actually thought Colin Firth was quite sexy. And I totally loved Kenny's sweater. And if I was a dude in this movie, I would be gay and fall in love with all the other guys. And non-stop-smoking-beatnik-girl would be my fag hag.

I opened the door with my camera in my hands, and the guys thought I wanted to shoot them for our wall of fame (we take pics of all the guests and put them on a wall) so I started shooting the guys, while Zoe was still in the closet. Afterwards they took so long, so we snuck outside into the elevator, right at the moment the guys were ready to leave…with the elevator of course. Welcome to the house of fun, I guess they will be back soon! Oh, and I also tried the shoes on Ioan (my boyfriend), and the Isabelle l’enfant chain on the cat. Being ill makes you numb and shallow. My only criterion these days for liking or not liking a movie is if I can remember seeing it. Like Twilight, which I only liked because of Kristen Stewart and the white skin (I have to admit that the boy is a hot cookie, but you will not see me drooling or fading)

I think I do liked The Lovely Bones, especially Susan Sarandon playing Grandma Lynn. Although
I'm not sure if it actually was a good movie. The dead girl her outfits were nice though.

I felt so sorry for that poor little Sylvia in An American Crime, but die bitch, die Gerty! You are as stupid as a sheep's ass. Ellen Page rocks!
I fell asleep because major depressed by Antichrist. Though at first I was surprised to see (probably a stand in) Dafoe's dick in close up in the opening scene.

I think I liked Orphan the most. I always get excited and inspired by movies about weird, bad and deeply disturbed children.

For me the very best fucked up kiddo flick ever is the original Village Of The Damned. And The Omen ofcourse. And Rosemary's Baby (but that movie doesn't really counts because the baby is still in the belly). And all the good old stuff that made you really freak out. GrrrLove it!

I was looking forward to see this movie, because I like "neighbourhood films", movies about suburbs, families, neighbours, different people who have no choice but interact with each other. Especially when they take place in the seventies or eighties. Knowing that I'm going to see one, already relaxes me. Lymelife was ok, I like the Culkins babyfaces. But Towelhead or American Beauty or The Squid And The Whale or C.R.A.Z.Y. or Magnolia or Thumbsucker were better, to name some.

When the nurse first saw me, I'm pretty sure she was swearing "not again on of those goddamn junkies!", as I was shaking like my body was hit by an earthquake. But actualy I was just someone with a heart rythm disorder who was work-OD'ed (and still going on at that point as you can see - although being scared to death from dying) (simply think of me as a femine, young and pretty copy of Caden Cotard in the first forty minutes of the movie 'Synecdoche, New York'). We all had a really good time and stayed at Supersophie's place,

who baked eggs for us every morning so we would survive at least till the afternoon.

The dog, Lilith, was very present, being smelly but oh so cute.

My guy, who has been called Teddy for a long time,

met another Teddy (from what's up?) in the backstage, which was fun.

Green was spread all over the place

which gave an Albatros inspiration to ask me if I could help them to score some weed

but they decided to get a massage instead from a lady in the backstage

(I wonder on which bands' rider she was).

Anyway, Dour was fun, like a family reunion of friends from all over the country.

Finally I took the time to read a book, like in 'a real book', from the beginning till the end. And I liked it. I bought it in a secondhand shop for 2euros after judging it by its cover (it's not thàt attractive, but compared to Belgian/Dutch novels, it's a relief. I really think we deserve to be balled by rotten tomatoes for being the country with the most ugly bookcovers in the wholewideworld). Anyway, all the other books I brought with me on holliday seemed boring and stupid to me after reading Tim and Pete. It's about a witty gay couple going Bader Meinhof while freaking out on AIDS. When I was searching on the web afterwards for other books by the author, James Robert Baker, I bumped into terms as cult, critical, controversial and suicide (the writer took his life after the book was razed to the ground by critics and no one wanted to publish his work anymore). I only wanna say: read it! (preferably on the beach)
